New ‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ Photo Hints Credence Publishing Newt’s Book

A new image from Fantastic Beasts 2 has hinted at a fan theory about Ezra Miller’s Credence Barebone.

Last year, it was revealed that a deleted scene showed Credence surviving the events of the first movie and leaving New York City, potentially on a boat with Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander.

Since then, we’ve had many fan theories about Newt and Credence, with one in particular on Reddit catching our eye.

“My theory is that Newt will save Credence from his Obscurus. Since Credence helped Mary Lou print all those flyers and pamphlets for the Second Salemers. I predict that he will go into publishing and publishes Newt’s book,” they surmised.

And now a new image highlighting a launch party for Newt’s Fantastic Beasts book has an intriguing publisher: Obscurus Books.

Maybe this lends credence (sorry) to the theory that somehow, between the two movies, Newt saves Credence and they become friends. Quite why they’d name their book company after an Obscurus, we don’t know, but it might just be a reminder of how they met.

Last month, Fantastic Beasts 2 teased the arrival of Nicolas Flamel with another new image.

It was previously revealed that the sequel would feature the significant Harry Potter character, who discovered the Elixir of Life and co-created the Philosopher’s Stone with Dumbledore.

Fantastic Beasts 2 arrives in cinemas on November 16, 2018.
